Starbucks does WHAT?

Did you know Starbucks is secretly a f*cking bank!?!

Sure, their coffee is overrated and overpriced, but that’s not even the genius in their business.

The genius is the rewards program in their app.

When Starbucks members deposit money into their app, they are forever entitled to those drinks in the future, but their money can be used by Starbucks immediately.

And 41% of members have fat stacks of cash just sitting in their app.

Starbucks can invest this however they want: Stocks, capital for new stores/growth…etc.

So they essentially have a $1.5 billion loan, and best yet? Theres no regulations on it.

They don’t have to have a certain amount of money available for withdrawal like a bank does, all they have to do is give members the coffees that they promised (which many will never even actually buy).

Absolutely genius.
